TallyDay Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 30, 2026

Applies to: TallyDay for iOS and iPadOS

1. Scope and principles

This Policy explains how the developer of TallyDay (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information you create, choose to provide, or receive from Apple services while using the app.

TallyDay does not require a developer-operated account, phone number, social login, or other third-party login. Based on the current app and code, it does not integrate advertising networks, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking tools. We do not sell personal information, build advertising profiles, or operate an independent server that centrally stores user content.

If these practices change, we will update this Policy first and obtain authorization where required.

2. Data, sources, and purposes

Financial records

Amounts, income or expense type, dates, categories, notes, account-book names, and imported statement content are entered, created, or imported by you. They are used for recordkeeping, statistics, search, reminders, import, export, and backup, and remain on your device by default.

Journal content

Titles, text, collections, dates, photos, videos, and places you choose to record are created, captured, selected, or imported by you. They are used to create, organize, search, and display journal entries and remain on your device by default.

Profile and appearance

Your nickname, bio, avatar, app-lock background, category icons, language, and theme preferences are used to personalize the app and remain on your device by default.

Settings and operational state

Reminder times, the selected account book, automatic-entry rules, sync and backup settings, feature switches, and recent backup results are used to remember your choices and perform requested features. Automatic-entry rules stay on the device where you created them. They are not included in iCloud sync or in financial-record or journal backups.

Purchases and entitlement status

If you view or purchase VIP, Apple StoreKit and the App Store process products, payments, refunds, and subscriptions. TallyDay receives product information, Apple-verified transaction results, and current entitlement status to complete purchases, restore purchases, and unlock features. We do not receive your full payment-card number or Apple Account password.

Support communications

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and anything you choose to attach. We use it only to reply, troubleshoot, and meet necessary legal obligations. Do not include complete financial records, journals, photo libraries, or identity documents in your first message.

3. System permissions

Camera and photos

Used only when you capture or select a photo or video, such as for a journal entry, avatar, app-lock background, or category icon. When you use the system photo picker, TallyDay receives only the items you select.

Microphone

Used only when you record a video for a journal entry, to capture the sound that goes with the picture. The recorded audio is saved on your device as part of the video file, or stored in iCloud according to your settings if you enabled journal sync or backup. TallyDay does not record in the background and does not perform speech recognition, voice analysis, or send audio to us. You can revoke this permission in system settings; you can still take photos, but you cannot record video with sound.

Location

“While Using the App” access is requested only when you choose to add a place to a journal entry. Apple location and geocoding services may turn coordinates into a place name. The result stays on your device or is stored in iCloud if you enabled journal sync. TallyDay does not continuously track location in the background.

Face ID and biometrics

Used to unlock protected content. Authentication occurs through iOS on your device. TallyDay receives only a success or failure result and cannot access or store your face or fingerprint template.

Notifications

Used for local financial-record or journal reminders you configure. TallyDay does not use notifications for third-party advertising. CloudKit may use Apple remote notifications to trigger sync without disclosing notification content to us.

All permissions are optional. Declining or withdrawing one affects only the feature that needs it.

4. iCloud sync and backup

iCloud is optional, and financial records and journals can be configured separately:

iCloud data is associated with your Apple Account, stored in its private space, and processed by Apple. You can turn these features off in TallyDay or system settings. Turning sync off stops future sync but may not delete data already in iCloud.

Automatic-entry rules stay on the device where they were configured and are not synced or backed up through iCloud. Ordinary financial records generated by those rules follow your chosen sync and backup settings.

See the Apple Privacy Policy for Apple’s practices.

5. Sharing and third-party services

We do not sell personal information or provide it to advertisers. Data may leave TallyDay only when:

Apple and services you choose process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not authorize service providers to use app data for unrelated advertising or profiling, and we require applicable providers to process it only for the requested service with protection consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

Check the content, recipient, and service before sharing or leaving the app.

6. Retention and deletion

Deletion from iCloud may take time to reach other devices. Uninstalling TallyDay may not remove data already held in iCloud, exported locations, recipient devices, or Apple transaction systems.

TallyDay has no developer-operated user account, so there is no separate app account to close.

7. Your choices and rights

You can:

We will respond within the time required by applicable law. If information exists only on your device, in your private Apple iCloud space, or in Apple transaction systems and we cannot access it, we will explain the controls available to you.

8. Security, international processing, and children

Security

TallyDay uses measures such as the iOS app sandbox, on-device storage, system biometrics, and Apple private iCloud containers. No storage or transmission method is absolutely secure, so protect your device passcode and Apple Account.

Processing locations

Local data stays on your device. Storage and processing locations for iCloud, App Store, maps, or email are determined by the relevant provider based on account, region, and service arrangements and may involve international transfers.

Children

TallyDay is not designed specifically for children and does not knowingly collect children’s information for advertising or profiling. Minors should use features involving personal content, location, photos, videos, purchases, or iCloud with a parent or guardian.

9. Policy changes

We may update this Policy when features, practices, or legal requirements change and will revise the effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide an appropriate notice where required.
